Trashcan Thesaurus from Teacher's Clubhouse

Today we got busy making the adorable Trashcan Thesaurus activity that you can get from Teacher's Clubhouse.

I first saw them when Amanda from Teaching Maddeness posted about them here.

Contraction Caterpillars

I found some adorable contraction caterpillars on Pinterest. They were pinned from Adventures of First Grade, and even though I teach 3rd grade, and these were SUPER DUPER easy for my kiddos we did them anyways. They were so fun! I wish I would have read Jayme's post more carefully and downloaded the template. I just had to wing it when I made mine!

 

"iPhone" Spelling

I came across a darling blog by following a blog, to a Pinterest link, back to another blog....you know how that goes. 

Anyhow, Traci from Dragonflies in First created these darling iPhones to use for spelling practice. 

I'm sure there are tons of ways to use them, but I had students choose spelling word, "text" the word, and after hitting send they were to write the word on their whiteboard. 

It sure made spelling practice a lot of fun today!
